Hmm... Does the encoded video play fine on your PC? If it does, then there's nothing wrong with the encoding. My best guess would be that the encoded file might be too large for the phone to handle. Try splitting it into several smaller parts. Update me on your progress yeah? I really hope it'll finally work out for you. Oh, and yes, I remember it took a really long time the last time I tried encoding a DVD, so don't worry. I suggest getting a smaller file to try, if you do not wish to waste too much time re-doing the process over and over again.

I'm a first-year Engineering student, have not chosen my field of expertise yet though. I really, really, absolutely hate exams! ARGH!!! Haha... That felt good... Right, sorry about side-tracking...

Deluded - Splendid job! Thats me all movied up to the max on the phone now! I have to split each film into segments of less than 1 hour ( I imagine that someone has no doubt figured out a way to store the film complete - I'm wondering if the network settings are anything to do with it. A friend has the same handset but is on Vodafone and can load and watch complete movies using the PC suite that came with the phone ).

Do you find that when the image on screen is static, ie theres no action going on, that the image is very clear, but the moment that people start running about, or theres an explosion or something, it goes all fuzzy? Not that I'm honking, mind, its still quite watchable.

Thanks again for all your help with this, my apologies for distracting you from your studies!

does any of of you have troubles with smartmovie audio? I gave smartmovie another try since the video quality is just as goog as m3's (i know some of you say it's better but not in my case - both are superb, though), but the audio is like radio with bad signal, when you hear all sorts of noises in the background. it's less audible if I turn up the volume but annoying nevertheless. Anybody know a solution? Otherwise I will have to go back to M3 eventhough the files are larger.

@Jabe, I've not tried smartmovie before, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help.

@symbianspazz, glad to be of help, no worries, didn't take up much of my time replying your questions. I doubt it has anything to do with network settings. Besides, if anything, a non-branded phone should actually encounter less restrictions than a branded one. It could be that the files converted by the PC Suite are of a lower quality and hence, smaller file size. That's why your friend can play an entire movie. It's also normal to get better video quality during the static scenes, so no worries yeah? As long as the moving scenes are not too much poorer, I think it shouldn't be a problem. Cheers mate!
