Just started happening to me on my K790i. I can't open either the Applications folder or the Games folder. Everything else seems fine. Oh well, off to find a SonyEricsson service center.

what firmware are you on? the latest for SEUS is R1JG, and for wotan is R1KC i think. i used to have the same problems, but a software update did the phone good. don't notice the problem no more...

I'm on R1CG001 on my K790i. I bought it from a store in NYC, unlocked and unbranded. When I tell the phone to Search for Update it tells me my phone already has the latest software. Maybe I need to find a service center or use Wotan to reflash. What a pain in the butt! Good thing I have a K550i to fall back on.
Does anybody know what causes this corruption? I had downloaded a few themes, the Periodic Table java app from lasyk.net as well as a stupid tank game. The only other java app I downloaded was
MobyToday (a "today" screen app that shows calendar appointments and tasks). I usually leave the MobyToday app running in the background.

you could just download SEUS and do it yourself at home. but if your phone is under warranty and it doesn't cost you, of course the service center would be a great choice.
anyways no idea on what causes it, could be a phone ram thingamagic issue. just treat it like accidents. it happens, but we hope it doesn't

I also facing the same problem but actually it's simple to solve this part of problem, just move your java application/games from memory stick to phone and it's back to live again. Also don't forget to clean up key by use file manager > more > memory status > memory stick/phone (click either one) > more > clean up keys. Clean it one by one to delete some cache memory keys in the M2 and phone memory
