They were swamped with complaints recently when SEUS upgraded folks' CId to 52 and there was a problem with the firmware for that CID. Looks like a typical corporate overreaction to those complaints, one that will generate just as many complaints with the "fix". Free is good, but I've read of too many problems caused by SEUS recently to trust it.

Yes SEUS can go both ways.
This is a feature of the service so if there is a problem with the new firmware when you reconnect it will automaticaly downgrade you.
Its a safety blanket.
SE isnt the only company that uses this feature.
They learnt from a problem a few years ago, when they placed an update on the SEUS and it caused one network major problems and complaints. Now if the same problem arrises again, you just reconnect and the downgrade.

Finally worked out how to update properly for O2 UK!
I was CID49 but you need to be CID 51... Use WOTAN and buy 1 credit to update your phone to CID 51 then use SEUS to update to R1JG001!!!
Yippie, problem solved...

Hi, sorry to revive this old thread, but I have the k790a in Canada and the SEUS firmware upgrade from R1ED001 to R1JG001 messed up my bluetooth handsfree. It just resets every time the handsfree tries to connect.
I would like to downgrade my firmware with SEUS, but I don't see the aforementioned option. I also contacted Sony Ericsson, which was useless.
Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

It shouldn't be possbile to downgrade to CID 49 should it?
I need to do that if it's possible
Is CID 51 the same as CID 52?
