I guess it will become obvious when you open up the phone and there will be rust here and there?
Just checked mine (K800) it is near the phone's batt connector.

I am not denying that water may have gotten into the phone maybe when my hair was wet or from steam or condensation etc etc. Its just that they haven't managed to prove the water damage to me and they haven't put the phone back together properly.
Anyway I've now made a video of the phone working perfectly apart from the broken microphone (i am a bit paranoid about what they may do to the phone to 'prove' the water damage or incase they break it even more when they try and put it back together) and sent the phone back to them with a nice letter asking them to email me the proof of water damage and to put the phone back the way they found it.
If i don't get a satisfactory answer then ill be off to Trading Standards to see what my options are - as they have taken payment from me for the original return of my phone i'm sure they have entered into some obligations.
Anyway thanks for your help guys and ill update this thread when i hear back from them,

My W800's battery moisture indicator has turned pink with gray dots on it. The phone's never been around water and the phone's indicator is still perfectly white. Does anyone know what that means?

If you've ever handled the battery with sweaty/wet hands, then that's probably what caused it.

I would do just that.
Its best to have as much evidence as you can when you get into difficulties with companies.

Hi, yeah i showed in the video i made that the indicator on the battery was still white but there was no indicator on the actual phone. I checked my old w800i and it didnt have an indicator on the actual phone either - only on the battery - so it must just vary from model to model.

it was MPRC they photopied the PCB and drew arrows pointing to the corrosion.
I said fine - sell me the part and I will do it myself - got a new display for twenty something UK pounds and fitted it myself.
quite good value i thought.
i dont think repair centres like to touch anything that appears to have had water in because something else might go wrong with it and they end up having to repair it more than once for the same money.
