I've been receiving emails and texts all day. Although most network problems are linked to geographic areas or similar number prefixes.
Try switching down to 2G/GSM Only (or if it's already set to that up it to 3G)

just got off the phone from voda, the woman thinks it is probably my sim card that is the problem as it is 3+ years old. She checked every other possibility and the coverage etc is fine so thats the only thing it could be.
will go in store tomorrow to get a new one and hopefully that will rectify the problem.
