I have pretty much confirmed it is a T9 problem. Non-predictive is fine. I am going to get another handset sent out on Monday. I have discussed it with Vodafone. If it still has the problem, I can get one more before my 14 days runs out on Wednesday, although there may be no point.
I can use non-predictive texting no problem so I think if all else fails, I will do that until I can get a software update on the phone.
Putting a lot of time and effort into this phone, I can tell you!!!

I had one of these in a fortnight ago, had absolutely NO problems with it, T9 or otherwise....so hopefully, they'll send you a good one this time!
BTW, as I(at the time) also had a W810 in for servicing(new speaker), I had a play with both to see what the fuss was about, and I'd say:
DB2020 processor
(+)
70mb phone memory(also used for RAM by OSE)
(= much faster phone, without mentioning TrackID, Walkman2.0, etc)
Makes W610 a better choice than W810...

Aware You don't need to convince me!!! I think (when working) the w610i is a big step up from the w810i. It's also prettier!
Don't know if I would upgrade from the w810i straight away if I had one but I certainly wouldn't go for the lesser model outright. JMO though.
Akaly I don't had that with the first one when on a call. The other 2 (lol) have been ok on that front at least!

And to the OP. I reckon you could look into a Samsung. The U600 ain't too bad either, although you will miss the ability to multitask Java apps.
