Man that's a bitch! I don't have W810, so I can't test myself.
Hey I just wondered, are your id tags up to date? I notice when dragging tracks in disc2phone, it creates unknown folder when a track doesn't have any id tags info (regardless of the folder name).
That doesn't explain why dragging and dropping using windows explorer doesn't work, atleast not on W800 but maybe on W810 it works by id tag?

So within mp3 what do i do. Can i create a folder for instance called TRANCE and then within that folder put my tracks.
Will this then mean that when i go into the walkman facilitiy there will be a folder called TRANCE?

Just done that now and still doesnt work. The files are showing in mp3 in file manager but in walkman they still dont show that folder insstead i go through unknown artist/unkwown album and then the tracks are listed along with my ringtones ive put on.
God this is really irritating me now!

ah, ok. so, you want the folder to be seen in walkman with all the songs under it. sorry, I didn't quite get it the first time. afaik, this is not possible with the w810. only the songs will be visible.
but this is what I do. create a folder in memcard, say New Wave. Put all my songs in there. Then I create a New Wave playlist in Walkman, Add Media and I just check the New Wave folder. All the songs under that folder are added. Problem with this is if you delete/add a song to the folder, you have to manually add/remove it also in the playlist. It doesn't get automatically updated.
of course, this is not exactly what you're looking for. just an alternative.

So is there no way round this then?

I can't believe they changed this? Using folders was the only effective way of creating "playlists" using the computer. So I wonder if you "sort by artist", will it organise the songs by the "artist" folder, or will it use id tag info?

no all that does is jumble them round more.
It doesnt display the folder you have put them in at all. Because ring tones are unknown artists its already put them into unkwnown artists along with my own songs.
Its stupid and i cant believe it seems to rely on tags.
This has really put a downer on the phone for me and wish i had had a like for like replacement and got the w800i cos at least i could create my own playlists on the computer.

pretty stupid I agree. You can put id tags with itunes - very efficient for that purpose.

Would this mean though that i could put different styles of music in the same folder by different artists and it would keep them in this folder. What would it do with the id tag though is that not gotta be the same artist for each song?
