First CHARGE normally takes about 4-6 hours . . . the battery should be in an ALMOST full-drain status in this case . . .

Is what I do is get the phone out of the box, and it already has some charge in it then, and so I use it until thats gone, and then I charge it overnight.

My dad was told by a CPW salesperson you shouldnt charge it more than it need though, because it kills battery cells or something, but I never bother, and its never affected my W810. Plan to the same with my 880 aswell.

ok with the w810 case i kinda believe that one should charge the phone for the exact 16hrs cause i dont find my phone battery is lasting as long as it should

when you buy the phone, it always at 50% charged. no need to "charge" more than it needs. but letting in overnight does not affect the battery. only using the very last drop of power to send a sms or finish a call....
