Yeah
, we, in the "old world" (Africa, Asia and Europe), can choose from a lot more interesting models then people in the USA, due to the different frequency range in their country.

Make sure you get the K790a, not the K790i, as this is the one you'll get full coverage with.

Well, I think, in NYC you'd be able to use a tri-band phone (I did, when I was there), but as soon as you get out of the city, into less populated areas, reception will get worse.

My husband and I have both K800i (same as K790, but with 3G) and W810i, but when I'd have to choose, I'd take K800/K790, because it has a better cam, better screen and a lens cover (which makes it a bit bulkier), also its newer. W810 still is a great little phone though.
But can't you go into a shop for a close look at both phones ? The look and feel of a phone is also important, pictures don't say everything. When I saw the first pics of K800, I didn't think it looked very good, but when I saw it "real live" in a shop, I liked its classy, businesslike looks.

I looked deeply into both phones and i only had one concern with the k790a.
is the MP3 bad compare to the w810. because i know the camera is better than the w810 but could not find enough information on the mp3 player.
also the memory M2 seems to be pricier and less capacity.
