Like has been posted, it is natural for people to move to mid tier handsets eventually. Some people change their phones as often as they change their socks.

However, yes the Indian market is massssiive.

Nokia made some special cheap basic Phones for the Indian Market. and i have contacts to india. The major use cheap Phones.

They put there phones into nylon

Just read in a newspaper that in May,India added 6.3 million new cellphone users(every month we see such a figure)....yet the cellphone density in India is less than 20%

Of the 6 million,most must have bought a cheap phone...those cheap phone make a profit of 10-15$ per phone.If SE could sell 1 million cheap phone out of that 6 million,it would be a cool 10-15 million $

But sadly,that 6 million went between Nokia and Motorola...and some to Samsung and LG.And when they buy a new mobile2 years from now,they will stay loyal with their brand.
