IMO you will just brick up your phone if you do that
. That is really stupid move. How can a 2mp camera (for e.g.) perform with a driver from 3mp one???

I agree - my experience with my P990 has been largely excellent. All it takes to keep it working perfectly is the occasional reboot - all you haters need to get some perspective!

I hate to tell you, but the firmware hack you speak of would never work.
One, the p990 was built around a modified UIQ3 interface. If yo flashed it with the p1 firmware, it would be harder to use.
Secondly, the p990 has inferior hardware so you wont gain performance. Hell you might even lose performance.
