Meanwhile, tomorrow morning, I'll have to wait and see if my M600i is kind enough to wake me up... Friday mornings are allways a gamble and it apparently depends on the mood of my phone whether it decides to sound the alarm or not. (>90% not! I set a calender alarm as a backup)

Come on! If I tick the workingdays to monday thru friday, I expect my phone to include the friday when I set my alarm to go off on workingdays... How hard can it be to fix a bug like that?

yes, agreed in the perfect world, but name a phone manufacturer that works by that principle?

and SE is getting more and more successful all the time so it seems that this isn't an issue that affects success. Nokia have also proved that too!

I was talking about high-end/flagship products.
Customers of those products live in the perfect world, as they expect & are entitled to get an almost perfect product + support for the 'perfect' money they have spent.

If they don't get it with Nokia or SE, they will find it elsewhere.

I have had 3 M600i (1st was a proto, second was replaced by P990i, P990i made way for N95...but missed the qwerty and touch screen so got the 3rd...that has now left...ready for the P1i)

Lovely phone, lacks some features but we knew that when we bought it... but the form factor is good.... but basically... I never ever had a serious issue with the M600i...

My M600 was more stable than what P990 can as far as my experience tells me. though imho it wont be too much if SE will provide M600 users too with a new firmware update

For me my 600 is the best phone i had (just above p900) ... My best friend has a p990 and only when i see its size i laugh! And for what ? Because it has a camera and wifi? I still dont understand what is the use of the flip, when we can use ,uch better the phone as it is on m600...

My biggert complaint is for the back button which is on the top right - i would defenitely prefer it on the bottom left... I usually use my thumb to "surf" in the phone, and when i want to go back in an application it becomes a real hassle...

However , a phone or any other piece of technology that has a firmware should not be abondoned so quickly, should only be developed and updated. especially when a phone like p990 which runs on the same more or less platform will be updated.

My phone is still in its warranty period, and SE will stop giving me any updates? Can i take it back to the store i bought it to replace it then?

I have a bug in my phone. When under the setting menu in contacts I use the Sort by option to Sort the contacts according to 1st or last name, the contacts manager crashes saying Error 6 has occured?

I think that M600 is one of the best phones I had, as far as my needs are concerned. I had the experience of several phones including the P800, P900 and P910. I use it as a business phone and it is great but I have only two but severe problems: the sound during phone calls is too low (in a noisy environment like an airport it is almost impossible for me to hear; this problem is related to last firmware); almost every day I have to reboot for SIM card error (is not the SIM, is a problem known by SE Italy).
I would like to stay with this phone, but they should solve these issues.
Coming from a business environment developing hw and sw I understand that they want to invest resources on new products; it is a normal standard of business companies,
It is true that MS have alphas and betas. I believe that SE also can create a community of beta testers at least of their flagship or business phones. This would help them to develop better phones and also getting suggestions on how to ameliorate functionalities and GUI.
Will I buy more phones from SE? Probably yes.
