i woulda said reinstall the drivers, because that happened to me quite a few times, if u chuck it into a diff usb port u need to install drivers again.

but that is probably not the problem, try update on another comp and see what happens

if davinci and wotan picks the phone up while holding the C...

then it aint a hardware error clear as day. coz other softwares are working well with it... this goes to show that the flash drivers wotan and davinci are using is working...

when you go to wotanserver.com theres a guide there in installing the proper flash drivers. it is also noted there that the reason why some SE flash drivers dont work.

and i think when i said try another driver... its uninstalling the old and installing the new. isnt it?!

go ahead my friend... explore! i guarantee you that its not a hardware thing and its not in your phone.

Well i've had enough of this. I've had a look around on Wotanserver but can't find anything I didn't already know, and also the drivers available on there are the same as the ones i'm using anyway. Hmm I don't get it. I've now tried so many different USB ports, removing the Sony USB Flash device from Device Manager so it can reinstall, all sorts. With no luck.

What about doing it in Safe mode with Network Support?

naah. that cant be done...how old is your K750? coz mine it acted the same thing when it was beginning to loosen its fastport connection.

the fast port is not plugged in properly it causes the PC to read it as an external drive. thats why it starts. ive had these experiences and what i did was to just plug the fastport firmly. youll notice a little jiggle when you connect them, it only mean its loosen.

try holding 2+5 instead of 'C'

you need to take out the sim card and memory card (if you have one) and reinsert the battery

what do you mean by holding 2+5?
and you don't need to take out the sim and memory card. i think it's not even necessary to take out the battery

Taking out the batt so that the phone will completely reset itself, ready for flashing firmware. I have no doubt that it may work without it but why not doing it while SE say so? It is not that hard anyway.

The newest SEUS don't ask to take SIM card & M2 card out (The older version did ask to take out the SIM card but not M2 card). But wotan and other third party did ask to take both out. So I just take both SIM card and M2 card out even when using SEUS as a precaution. And all of my K800 flashes (4 times) have been flawless.

Perhaps you want to try the following:
make sure your phone is basiaclly set to: Phone Mode and NO charging when connected to USB port!

Then turn off phone, take out SIM, memory stick and battery. Restart computer and bring up SEUS while the cable is in the USB port, NOT the phone connected to it!!!

Then, when the program asks to connect the phone do so WHILE HOLDING down the C button.

Wait until the program says... let go....

and fingers crossed, it might work.

Follow the rest of the instructions then.

michael,

Thanks for the reply. But how do you set it to "phone mode" so it does not charge from the USB? Never seen this option
