ok i did the fix
my N95 slider now doesnt tap when pressing buttons, and my slide is quite smooth and easy to slide.
It is tighter than before but i am still able to push it up using a finger on the plastic bit just baove the buttons and below the screen...
can you guys with the titght sliders tell me...is this how N95's should be?

Take it back to the manufacturer and tell them to replace it. You shouldn't have to spend that much money on a device to have to take it apart and put it back together with Cellotape.
Are there no other fixes? I remember seeing one where you slightly bend the slide rails?

cant realy take it back as:
1) i bought it from ebay
2) i already taken it apart and probably voided warranty
3)i've debranded it.
4) I cba cos its fine as it is
and yer you can bend the rails but id rather not mess with the actual parts of the phone and do something irreversable.

right ok i seem to have solved it now(touch wood)
but just wondering...for you with n95's if you grab the back(plum/sand/graphite) part with one hand ad then the front with the other and hold the front part with a finger at each side..if you push it a little(not enough to slide it up) but if u just push a little in each direction(up and down) does it seem to have a little leverage and move ever so sligtly...even for you with the tight sliders?
as i think this is normal and is meant to happen but just wanted to be sure..i think im becming a perfectionist

I was concerned at first as to how easy the back cover could be removed, exposing all of the internal workings the slide fix worked for me. So kudos to the Italian man!

Al3x, I think I have the same thing on my one, basically it'll move around 1.5mm but still go back to the original position as if its spring loaded, thats fine i'd assume, nothing really wrong with that, although saying that, i've noticed that mine is starting to become slightly loose again, I do assume that its doing that as the electrical tape may have settled in slighty. hopefully if it does indeed come back, it shall only be a quick fix now that I know how to fix it.
