No one snorted cocaine prior to working with this device.
The thing is, it may behave in certain ways with some people, and doesn't with other people, but for sure its BUGGY for ALL people.

I should think instead of providing firmware updates for P990, they should start developing their 9.2 OS in UIQ 3 and enable the P990 users to upgrade their OS versions since 9.1 is a really buggy and the RAM of the P990 is really not upgradeable. Symbian 9.2 is relatively a safer OS in both S60 or UIQ 3.1. and i'm sure P990 would deal well with RAM problems since Motorola RIZR Z8 has even lower RAM of 50Mb while it manages to perform excellently for a smartphone

Why not?
Symbian 9.1 is a VERY troublesome operating system, and if they tried to maintain the user base of the P-series, they will gain alittle credit in terms of reputation and market share.
I don't imagine buying a P1, when I have a bad experience with the P990 or M600, for example.
I would avoid the P-series like a plague

Now that makes sense

Though I am glad SE decided to continue supporting the P990i (at least once more), I have little hope all the bugs (remaining and new ones introduced with R6) will be fixed with the next firmware release.
Given the recent events, I think the new firmware release will be marketing-oriented. It might fix some of the most notorious bugs but probably will be the last one (though they won´t recognize it in public and make the same mistake again).
Anyway, I hope to be wrong......
