Does anyone here seriously consider using either of these Camera Phones as their main photo taking device? Seriously?

I took hundreds of photos with my W900i when I went to NYC last Autumn and let me tell you that the camera performed and it was well up to the job.

The 7x5 prints look great - I'd wouldn't have had bigger ones printed though but in general I didn't miss my dedicated cam.

@Goldenface,

Fair enough. Your phone must be very good or your dedicated cam is crap. . I have a Nikon D80 and to date there is no phone cam that can close to it. Even if I shot in .jpg low, my photos would smoke the N95 and the P1. However to each his or her own. I was just asking.

P1i photo is way too noisy. Photo already scaled down to VGA size and we can still see the noise. Looking at full size, I think the P1i photo would look very bad.

be nice to see some out side shots in natural lighting

edit: @qwest, which has better battery life, p1 or n95? i know p1 has larger battery, but doesnt automatically mean its better.

Well, it's more for the accidental shots... I wouldn't wanna think of having to carry a D80 with me all the time. The P1i/N95/N73/K800 shots are good enough for the accidental pictures and casual shots... For the really special moments I'd keep my digicam with me.

The P1 photos aren't too bad.I'm wonderin if the w960i camera quality will be exactly the same as they both boast a 3mp camera with af...

@sapphorobaby
Of course Nkion D80 is better because it's a DSLR! are you really dare intended to compare a DSLR to a phonecam? even resolution differs so much from sensor size, lens, flash module, hotshoe, shutter and aperture settings everythig is in favor of D80! better compare your D80 to a canon EOS 400D rebel or Samsung GX10 or Sony Alpha

in night shots P1 images tend to be noisy even with the downscaled resolution, but this is normal for a CMOS sensor enabled camera, in contrast to N95 which uses a sort of high image compression and noise reduction algorithm(same algorithm apllies to N73 and N93i cameras) if it's a CCD then it wont be likely to produce noise that bad.

@Shag Yeah, lets compare the video quality of the 2. I guess thou, even 'harden' SE fans know what the outcome will be - before the comparision starts
