Specs are normal nothing shocking,... I hope things WILL change to better of course.

Is that removable flip you are talking about?

The only reason I would see logical for a flip on the P990 upgrade is that the screen would be much larger.

I'm quite happy with what SE did with the P1i and the W960. But if they found a way to give it a full VGA screen, with a 320x480 flip-closed screen, without it exceeding 19mm in thickness, then they might have a good thing going.

I was personally never fond of the Jog-Dial since it isn't an ambidextrous controller. Not to mention it's up-down bias limitation. I always preferred Ericsson's joystick/d-pad over Sony's Jog-Dial.

sony managed to build an 11 inch screen which is really really slim (can't remember how cm) why not pass those skills into sonyericsson to build a screen for mobile fone 640x480 ?? i know tha sony is different company but i think they share some technology.

to be honest, in this P1 size package, I now have almost what I wanted a year ago when I bought the M600

but, as with all similar threads like this my biggest wish is always to fit more screen into the available space

again, on the P1, there is a space rserved which just says P1i and this could easily have been placed at the top near the front camera providing room for more screen.

is exactly what i wanted masseur - and had it post in another thread. I dont understand what's all that space under P1i

Despite Boinng´s wishes, the P990 successor WILL have flip, and thank god for that

Why Ares? Simple question - why do you need the flip?

Please don't say one handed operation - the P1 has that!

its my opinion...one handed operation with the flip is superior to what p1/m600 offers.

plus, the flip design alows for a bigger screen

don´t worry, SE will launch more M600/P1 type of phones, but at the same time, there will be more phones with flip, like the P990 successor

imo; the images ,though computer generated,on the p3 threads are some of the coolest form factors. a device the size of the m600,but all screen,(vga of course) that slides open to show an m600/p1 keyboard. and new omap prossesor. flipclosed in uiq3 is not needed.

i thought the same, that Pxxx series was the best ever invented....

Until i tried M600! Thus phone is superb, and much much much more convinient than the P series! It is just a p-series phone without a flip!
I dont understand why do we still want the flip?
