that is the little plastic bit masseur and from the looks of it your has broken just like the rest of everyone else. it normally extends a bit more towards the battery and then curves down towards the chassis of the phone so that the metal clip is held tightly under it.

thanks, yeah I realised it must be that when I looked at my own pics
hadn't noticed what it looked like before

so how much is a new chassis?

I was even more low tech, just put a wee bit of bluetac just below where the metal clip was so that the point of the stylus digs in to it and holds it firm.

Need to rearrange the bluetac every so often but works fine for me.

thats a good idea too!

its a shame such a simple thing ruins what is otherwise a very good device, and its not like we can easily break that ourselves as 99% of the time its locked away in the closed battery compartment

The very same thing happened to my W950i a couple of months into ownership!

I just super glued the metal pin in place and it has been fine ever since albeit a little stiff for the first couple of weeks but it is fine now!

Looking at the area of the tab... perhaps a small diameter straw sut down in length and secured in place down the lower end of the channel would do the job of the metal clip and the securing tab...

Kind of a hybrid version of the P1i housing for the stylus.

It does indicate that this may have been a warranty issue against the M600i with the change of design in the P1i...

well im very happy to hear it's been redesigned in the p1. its to bad that no one has made a replacment housing that corrects this, considering how many people this has happened to. i ended up buying two because i know it will just happen again, i dont like my things jerry rigged, especially something as lovely as the m600.

What you could do is bend the metal piece downwards slightly, so when the cover slids on, it would push the metal in place. This way, the stylus will be firm. By changing how bent it is, you could adjust how firm you want the holder to be. I think this was discussed and shown with photos in previous threads or in other forums.

Same thing happened to mine, i've stuck a piece of card between the wire and the battery and it works a treat. Better than before it broke to be honest. Tried to use glue on the wire to fix it in place where the tab broke but never managed it.
