hey chili good on you for sticking with joysticks; they are much maligned are the poor old SE joysticks. I too generally prefer them over dpads. Hopefully the K800 will be fine.
Another thing that I've always felt short changed over, no ability to remap main keys other than the joystick direction. For example to have one key locked into activity key and one to internet, and not being able to swap sides, can make a big difference depending on whether you are left handed or right handed.
So ability to remap main keys and left/right handed nuetral design.

to be honest, R1KG001 for k8 is great.
but the timestamp on camera bugs is pretty annoying for me...
dunno why SE change it to red, and then it freeze for a minute when timestamp is enabled....

Hey guys, do you think it'll be possible for J2ME someday to have an API that can access and manipulate the sms inbox and outbox? If that happens, there are 2 applications that i'd like most to see - one that's like MumSMS and another one for chat-style threaded sms. Speaking of threaded sms, i used it a lot on my old Nokia 3310 and 7250i. I wish SE phones had it too since we have really cheap sms here in the Philippines.

it'll come! Once people would have said JAVA will never be able to access the phone files system, look how stupendously wrong that was!
Another thing I want in SE phones is the ability to add shortcuts to java programs to the shortcut menu.

Hi max, it'll be a great day when sms access happens, but the downside is that we'll have to upgrade phones again because the necessary API isn't currently built into any of the existing phones??

Yep we hardly hear the word "sandboxed" these days anymore do we! And you're right about the need for activity menu shortcuts to java apps... Alternatively, SE can just improve the Java apps/games search method - multi-character search (a la phonebook) or wildcard string instead of the current first-letter only.
