@Whizkidd: See what good I have done digging this up . GPRS where I am is no faster than normal CSD at the moment. Unfortunately, using CSD is madness here because of the cost. So, I am stuck with GP. Not that I am complaining; no. It serves me well enough. I do intend to put my network operator on their toes shortly.

@govigov: My operator, Glo, does not have CSD either, but they are the only GPRS-enabled platform here, so all others actually run CSD - and that, at exhorbitant costs, so 'no-one' uses it.

Er..this might sound stupid, but whats CSD anyway? Whats the difference between it and plain gprs? This message was posted from a T230

@whizkidd: Its not stupid; none of us knows everything. CSD means Circuit Switched Data. Its dial-up via GSM, and you are billed for time you stay connected as against GPRS' billing for data transferred.

I don't have to worry about that. No matter how much i use my gprs, i always pay a fixed rental of 150 indian rupees per month. Thats about 3 us dollars. This message was posted from a T230
