Seriously I am thinking about the N95 as well. I think that it is a bit ugly but it is well suited. Plus Nokias are now catching on in the US so I should be able resell if so desired and get back a good bit. Look at the price and see how well they are selling.
Nokias president was recently on CNN talking about their push into the US market with the higher end phones. It seems as though they might take up some of the void left by a troubled Motorola.
For now I am sticking with my P990i and its troubles for another two months. The P1i has to hold its value for some time and I will have to read more on Esato about and keep an eye out for where SE is going before I help SE develop another prototype.

I am also disapointed my the lost value of the phone.I got mine 2nd hand and paid 370 euros and now I can't sell it for 200. Plus the fact that I had an m600i before and paid for it 500 euros and sold it for 270. A lot of hard-earned money went to waste. And the only advantage of the P1 is really the memory pool. That's all. I am lookinbg forward for that review that i'll do but I had a play with it on Friday and all I can say is it feels the same but had 20 progs in the background runnin' without any stress from the processor or UI. Bottom line: if you loose money stick to your P990i.

Guys, those of you considering a N95 make sure to physically handle the device and check the build quality. A few weeks ago I was entertaining the idea of getting an N95 but after playing around for a few minutes decided against it. Especially the slide mechanism just seemed like it wouldn't last for more than a week...
Despite all the other bugs, the build quality of the P990 is really excellent and the N95 just doesn't come near it.

I'll second that. The only reason I'm holding a P1i in my hands is the build quality of the N-Series. I had the N80 and N73, looked forward to the N95 but found it was the same shocking build quality as the first two and said enough is enough. My N80 was ruined by the Christmas cracker build quality and the slider itself was a joke! Two plastic shells sliding against each other on loose plastic rails. It felt worn out and faulty straight from the box! The N73 creaked and groaned because it was made from cheap, thin plastics. A great phone with a top camera but every time I picked it up the thing annoyed me. Now onto the N95. I read review upon review about the slider and was dismayed to learn it is exactly the same system as the N80. Despite my misgivings I went to look at one in a shop and the build quality was so bad that the two pieces of the slide (top and bottom parts of the phone) actually had a bit of play in them and when you held it in your hands and pressed the top buttons it clicked due to the two parts of the phone moving in your hand! Then there was the terrible plastic sliding mechanism. The thing is built like a cheap $2 toy. I asked to see two more and they were just as bad and if you read up on the internet these problems are worldwide. I wanted the N95 so bad but build quality is an important feature to me, it's right up there on my list of requirements. I don't care how good the phone itself is if it's built like a toy. Now don't get me wrong, the P1i doesn't have exceptional build but next to the Nokia it's way more acceptable. I truly hope Nokia read this as they lost a decade+ customer over this problem.

I perfectly agree with both of you.
Had the N95 for 2 weeks and although I got one with a tight slider (after testing exactly 10 devices) I must say that the build quality of the remaining parts also leaves a lot to be desired.
Their devices may be equipped with the latest technologies but in terms of build quality Nokia is still at the point where I have left them years ago..
And even one of their most expensive devices is no exception.
