I think SEUS has been updated, probably explains your problems finding it. Current version seems to be 2.7.7.6, for me anyway.

Just spotted that thread. I wonder what is going on with the update service?

Hmm that is strange. I'm wondering if I should switch my CDA back to World Generic 2 this weekend via SEUS, so that I don't get stuck without R6E28 if the whole thing disappears completely for some odd reason. It wouldn't make sense that it's related to the end of the P990i/W950i/M600i firmware though, because SEUS is used for all their other devices too... Right?

Might be worth doing if you are really looking for that update. Yes, the update service does all SE phones. Might not be them all though, I remember having to send the Ericsson R520 to a service center for updates, I think the t68i (When it became SE) was the same. Not sure if the update service only covers more recent phones, or its the whole line now. In general though, all the phones that can be updated by yourself the one SEUS package does it all.

Hopefully it won't go back to being a service center only job because too many phones have been bricked through SEUS or something..

Edit: SEUS does as far back as the T610, so most of the SE line anyway

I got the 990i today and thought I was going crazy on the SE update page. Way to go Sony. Perhaps they are updating the software?

I found a working link to an update service app here:
http://www.sonyericsson.com/d[....]te_Service_Setup-2.7.6.8-1.exe

No guarantees, haven't tried it yet.

I used the link today and it worked perfectly for my M600i

Remember to take note of the "this upgrade may wipe all data". After the upgrade, there was no data at all. I'm so glad I have the backup!

Cheers,
Grahame

I'm pretty sure for the non smartphones SEUS doesn't wipe your data, still a good idea to have a backup. With the smartphones its always a format.

Yes, because SEUS only flashes the MAIN files on non smartphones, and doesn't touch the FS (file system), where all personal data (and customization files, etc.) are located.

But flashing both, main+fs, via DaVinci, XS++, etc. deletes everything !
