hi
the lack of "magic profiles pro" for uiq3 is the main reason i keep my p910i...
in fact i'm considering to move on windows mobile or s60 if such software exist on these platforms.
have a good day !

A profile manager app for UIQ3 is rather unlikely to be ever written by any 3rd-party, because most required system functions are undocumented. SE could write it easily - no idea why they don't.
Excuse my ignorance but....
System functions for such basic operations as 'switch to vibrate' and 'switch to silent' etc are undocumented??? That's ridiculous! Another reason why I'm ditching SE asap....
And Geezay, thanks for the suggestion but I'm after something that can switch between silent/loud/vibrate/ascending etc rapidly... ie without having to open the flip and go into Control Panel....

Well, in the absence of Magic Profiles, I have had to settle for Advanced Call Manager. You can perform the actions you have talked about without opening the flip. You can even assign a shortcut on the "D-Pad" to ACM, and change profiles "fairly rapidly" without too much fuss. Give the demo a try and see...

why SE did not offer profile feature?
my take is
one more application = more bugs complains = more fixes to do
but no extra $ for SE just pure cost.

This is something I feel quite strongly about. Switching from my P800 (with MagicProfiles Pro) to a K800 - with profiles - and now back to a P-series phone with the P1 I was absolutely gobsmacked to find that

still haven't implemented profiles as standard in their Symbian phones. Does anyone know if the W950 supports profiles (my guess is not)?
Why is something as fundamental as profiles (standard on most non-symbian

phones) not supported on the P-series? Symbianwave clearly demonstrated with MagicProfiles that it can be done in a way that is even superior to the standard profiles in other phones.
I would like to aks - no beg Symbianwave (SW Midas, are you still around?) to release their brilliant MagicProfiles for UIQ3 (petition anyone?)

They could do it on
UIQ2 where the extensive system hacking (necessary for accessing the undocumented functions) was possible. On UIQ3 the same is quite impossible due to the newly introduced security features that prevent developers (and crackers) from efficiently reverse engineering the operating system.

@Lisa: Better get used to accessing the Volume menu then and set everything manually

It still doesn't explain why

haven't implemented profiles in any of their P-series phones though.

That will probably never be explained.
