Yup, MyPhoneExplorer can help you to transfer not just contacts, but your calendar events as well as tasks. Do try it, it's great! Alternatively, backing up and restoring from memory stick as mentioned is an easier method. I'm curious though, do I need 2 put the backup file into any particular folder on the memory stick in order for the phone to be able to restore it? Or will the phone be able to detect it no matter where I copy it to?

Well I use motorolla and I do it the hectic way. I spend most of my time emailing my friends and collegues in a pc straight to their numbers and I save them as email adresses. Its preety time consuming however.

You may as well get a data or what is called a usb cable and connect it to your phone. Then synchronise you phonebook so the numbers will be displayed ad you will be able to do whatever you like with the.
That is if you problem is still not solved.
I works with my mottorola
