Guys, guys, the K850 has an internal automatic lens cover.
Makes you wonder why they put that transparent cover on top of it. I mean, that's what the lens cover does, right?

The material covering the lens has been described as 'glass' rather than plastic over on Mobile Review and I am sure it has been tested thoroughly. If there are any problems with this particular set-up then I'm sure we'll read about them here.

It doesnt matter if its glass or plastic, it will still get scratched and dirty etc
.....it will ruin any photos u try to take...
i am getting more and more dissapointed with this phone!

Well like anything, it depends on how well you look after it. If you're gonna put a device worth hundreds of pounds in the same pocket as your keys and coins then you shouldn't moan when it starts to deteriorate. My w900i survived months without so much as a blemish on its lens.
Plus like I said, we don't know for sure until we have actual user's opinions.

maybe the glass cover is just there for aesthetic reasons? i mean...it definitely makes the back of the phone look cleaner & sleeker than if there's a dip or bulge for the camera lens module.

I have to wonder how dust proof it is. I bet dust will get under the back cover and work it's way under the glass. Now that will be a real pain as it looks like the back cover is not designed to come off easily for cleaning. I wonder if it will fog up in humid conditions.
If you ask me this phone is destined to fail. It's ugly, the lens cover will probably scratch and collect dust, everytime you go to take a photo you will need to check and clean the lens cover and the latest K850/n95 comparison photos on gsmarena do not impress at all.

The Nokia N82 pre release pics look like it will be a better bet than the K850i.
It looks slimmer, and seems to have more like a conventional pocket cam type lens cover arrangment ... and a 1st for Nokia it has a Xeon flash.
