@ AbuBasim
hi there, well it seems that your P990 isn't dealing with ds-970 well...
my ds-970 works great with my k800,the sound is superb...as you've mentioned you have a good sound when you are using it with your PC...
so there must be something with your P990i...i don't know much about this phone but i've read somewhere here in Esato that some guys updated their P990's firmware and after that they reported obviouse sound improvements, and bluetooth range and quality...

Sorry for the confusion there!! You are correct...The volume control is the same for both the bt headset and the mobile..... I just meant to keep it at max....Any way I found that good quality music files...with high bit rate of at least 128 always sounded good on the phone....
Low quality files were crappy on the phone... and of course the existing problem with the p990i's low ram is a major defect which causes app shutdowns all the time , not only with the media player as you mentioned..That's why the P1 is a major improvment ...

be carefull with ebay, as dogmann said... a lot of fakes going around (especially if you order the cheapest ones AND from hong kong). If they worked it wouldn't be that bad (I can live with worse sound and distance) but they lock up all the time and stop working...
Just be warned...

For me it works great and I don't get the sound problems from the head-set plug at the bottom of the phone...

i bought one from HK seller on ebay
It was defective, it would work for a while and then 'freeze' up. I couldn't even power cycle it when that happened. I would have to connect the charger just for a second and then i could power it up again.
luckily, they have date stamp so, i sent it back to Sony and hopefully get it back soon.
I didn't think the sound quality was good at all but i'm hoping that was defective too and when i get it back, it'll sound better.
So, yeah, be careful buying on ebay
