try to assign DNS addresses in your connection profile manually, may be that would help

The problem is most probably in your router.
Am using my P1i with a dlink di-624 and a belkin N1 router with no problems at all and I have a WAP personal encryption on both of 'em...

Get everything to work when all security is shut off in your Wlan-routers. Then try to add encryption/etc.. Also, make sure your routers are set to run in "Mixed mode"/"Compatibility mode" if they are 802.11g-devices, as the P1i supports 802.11b.
I know P1i has had some problems with certain types of encryption on certain types of routers. Just try different combinations, etc.
Make a master reset on your Wlan-router!
Etc, etc..

I had an issue when connecting to my Router (3Com). It seemed the issue was obtaining an IP Address if WEP encryption was on. I gave my phone a static address for my connection and all was fine. Could be worth a try.

If you can browse your routers settings then you are connecting and everything is OK on that side - you are connected to your access point and wifi is actually working correctly. Make sure that in the connection is listed in the internet group. Control panel->connections->internet accounts->groups tab click internet group->
1>click add new account
2>select wifi account
3> click done
4> click save
5> click done
open opera and try to open google.... making sure your router is seeing the internet OK first!
Hope this helps
