What is the rest of the story? I too just bought a k850i and the volume keys did not work. What is up with that? I tried the SEUS, but it says no update. Usually, you can at least override and say update anyway.
I then tried the master reset (as suggested by support) and I have working volume keys now... strange.

Mines sim free / unbranded and the volume keys work as volume and or skip depending on how long you hold them for. So may be a carrier specific thing.
Also my volume keys DO bring up the status menu (a la k800 etc). They only bring up the clock if the phone is in standby (ie black screen).
No branding for me thank you.
Cheers

i got this phone two weeks ago (on release day)
it has bugs,
first the volume keys stopped working properley and i had to restart the phone,
then it went haywire when i tried to use it as a modem and wouldnt register the media files,
now the 3 soft touch keys have stopped working meaning that i cant even turn it on,
it is on o2 contract but is an unbranded fone, i half wish i kept my old k800!!
