That's good news.
I always thought Symbian maps were different from WM6 maps.
My mistake!

hi,
i was just wondering if any GPS bluetooth receiver will be compatible with P1i and will it work with any set of maps?
i'm asking about that because my friend is going to Singapore and she could get me some GPS gear really cheap but she's not all that familiar with technology and i don't want her to run around looking for any specific model;
so could i just ask her to buy me any GPS bluetooth receiver (maybe within a specific brand - which one?) and it'll still work with P1i?
thanks for you comments,

For P1 get any Bluetooth GPS, with the SIRF STAR III chipset, as it's the best.

Yes, they are designed to work with any BT receiver but you gotta use Tom Tom for UIQ 3.0. I think they are the only ones with maps for UIQ 3.0.

i just took delivery of my p1i. ordered it from play.com
opened up the packaging, and there is a sticker on the front of the box 'wayfinder navigator 7'. the seals had been broken on the box, but there is a bluetooth gps reciever, car charger, and wayfinder manual in there.
have downloaded and installed the software, but apparently i have to subscribe to it, and it uses an internet connection to work.
does anybody currently use this?
or
can i just buy tom tom maps, and install. but use the gps reciever that i got with the phone?
cheers.

It doesn't need to be a Sirf III chipset, Sirf III is just one of the better chips on the market. Most BT recievers will work with the phone.
