well, if you get sand in your pocket don't expect it not to scratch. Sand is made of mostly quartz, which has a MOHs hardness of 7. Glass (and mineral glass) has a hardness of 5. Saphire coated mineral glass has a hardness of 9, the only thing that will scratch it is diamond.
I highly doubt the K850 has a saphire mineral glass lense cover. Usually unless "saphire" is mentioned, it's only mineral glass. Mineral glass is the same thing as normal window glass
