I bought a orange sony ericsson phone 2 weeks ago and i've tried to set up my emails ever since. I've been in shops and asked but they don't seem much of a help. I really need help with this as i have emails coming in every day. Someone please help me with the settings please.

My k850i is on orange, but I can access my O2 pop3 using the following
(if this helps !)
email, accounts, edit, pop3,
server is mail.o2.co.uk, username is your FULL O2 email address, password is
.... (your logon password),no excryption and port 110.
email, accounts, edit, smtp,
server is smtp.o2.co.uk, authentication is "same as pop3", encryption none
and port 25.

Obviously you'll need a GPRS of internet connection set up as well.

Hmm ok, do you use SSL or TLS for the SMTP settings? Check in your account settings and if you use SSL/TLS you probably need to download the certificate for your server.

Not always ... some ssl's only need the correct port (995 and 465) - g-mail
is an example.

Orange e-mail users ....
email address - "your orange address"@orange.net
incoming - pop.orange.net (port 110)
outgoing - smtp.orange.net (port 25)
username - "your-mobile-number"@orange.net
password - pop3 password. NOT your logon password.

The pop3 password can be sent to your mobile via sms.
login to orange and go to email from the summary page, options, email
account - near the top will be "Request password"

Ok, thats strange. I used your settings but with fake username and password and could connect to the server (I got a message saying wrong username/password).

Check your GPRS/Wap settings as well (look in the email settings), some operators don't let you use Wap settings when you check your email.
