Nanu, the procedure mentioned is incorrect.

The P1i would not function correctly if flashed in this way, hence broken phone. I thought that was clear to see but, i was wrong.

I seriously doubt that. The p990 has too little RAM compared to the w960/p1i and I'm not sure how the flip would work
