Hi Leeboy13

You've prob already tried this or spoken to Orange but i thought you could 'block' unwanted texts & calls either through your phone or network operator?

Leeboy.....

Get Orange to tell you who the texts are from and how to stop them, tell them you've sent STOP the numbers but you still get them..

Also, write a letter to Orange in London (I'll find the address later) and tell them you have heard recently that they are changing their prices and being a potential user of services you want out free of charge with a PAC code to take your number elsewhere...

If you send it to the right address, it'll end up at the Orange Exec department who will do whatever to solve your issue!

gimme a call/text if you want any advice

EDIT:

Straight to the exec office.. you will get a call from a withheld number as they can't give their number away, so be sure to answer it!! I would give you the exec office phone number but they will reject your call if there is no notes from one of the team on your account......

I cant switch them off.... phoned orange, they confirmed this, theres no option within my phone....

Anyway, fatreg, this was my letter, sent out this morning....

'Dear Sir/Madam,
I have heard Orange are changing their prices and being a potential user of service I want out free of charge with my PAC code to take else where. In addition to this reason I also feel orange have dramatically gone down hill over the past 2 years (I have been a Orange customer for about 8 years now), within my current contract I have been charged for premium text messages in which I have never signed up for, nor replied too (only once to say ‘STOP’) in which they didn’t stop… I phone orange to deal with this matter in which Orange informed me I ‘MUST’ of signed up…. It appears to me that this has ONLY started happening since my recent upgrade to a PDA phone (HTC TOUCH)…. I would like to stop using this phone now as frankly it randomly connects to the internet (incurring me charges) and somehow signs me up to these premium text numbers (which either means I incur a cost or have to spend a long time on hold to either orange or other operators to pass the buck and eventually blame me…. As stated I have been a Orange user for 8 years or so and have never used these numbers, why start now? I am computer literate so if I wanted MP3’s on my phone etc, I can do this for free…
I’m Upset because at the end of my last contract I wanted to leave orange as my bills were too high, I was talked into staying by the simple fact that orange would give me a deal ‘ensuring’ I would go over my monthly rate (which is £45 a month), for this tariff I get 3000mins and unlimited texts (hence why im upset and find it hard to justify paying a penny for premium texts – I did not sign up for!) Also the phone I have is almost impossible to text on (so a waste having ‘Free texts’….) I phone orange yesterday and asked to be upgraded to the newer version of my phone as my current HTC touch has broken (the HTC touch DUAL) which has a keypad – meaning easier texts… but apparently this is not possible even though a replacement of my current phone is being sent out anyway… at the start of my contract I was insured this phone was not to be released for a long time on orange, otherwise I would of waited…

Im sorry it has come to this and I did used to think of Orange as the pinnacle of mobile service providers, sadly, recent events have dramatically changed my view on this.

Feel free to reply to me in writing or by the telephone, I eagerly` await your response

Kind Regards

Mr Lee Walbyoff'

Fingers crossed on some sort of response i guess......

thanks matey

think you should take the last bit out since it reads like you are willing to keep the contract if they upgrade you to a newer phone but dont want the contract if they dont give you the new phone, also i think it would be more likely to get out the contract using the changes in term for certain numbers such as call forwarding services.

if the handset is pretty much the same with only a keypad why not just sell it and buy the one with the keypad

if your getting charged for premium text they should offer to change you number for free, because no matter what service you are on you will still receive premium text on that number.

i hate data charges so i have delete the profile for gprs i only have the one for mms so i dont have to worry about high data charges

i know what you mean.. but i guess, if they buck their ideas up and honour somethings they told me, ie, stop these numbers charging me (as i dont use them) AND give me some sort of incentive (ie upgrade) then i may stay...... guess i saw it as offering they some sort of leverage to 'Keep me'......

its in the post now.... eeeeeeeeek!

thanks for the advise tho matey!
