> HBH-DS980 Bluetooth Recpetion Quality?

The main conern with the DS970 is that the material used for the wires can fray quickly (mine hasn't due to little use over last 6 months) and have read the cables can become brittle.
The other main consideration other than "looks" is if you want the telephone contacts/time features that the DS980 has while the DS970 only displays the caller the DS980 can be used to select a contact & phone them.
I'm in the UK where the DS970 can be had for 47GBP while I shopped around and got my DS980 fro 57GBP (normally around 70GBP) so not half price here.
If where you are the price is double then the DS970 is certainly a consideration.
Can't vouch for reception quality with other pnones though. Think the voice quality for microphone is much better with the DS980 from what I read.
Both can work with a laptop if it has BT & supports stereo (AD2P??) profile but found not good for gaming as audio lagged a bit. Great for music or voice though.
The DS970 is cheaper because its older and has been replaced by the DS980. Would imagine no more DS970's will be available once stock has cleared. The DS970 comes with a great little plastic protective case while unfortunately the DS980 didn't!!

I got a set of 980's for Christmas...works great with my K850...
Slow and cumbersome as it would probably be (like browsing the phonebook), I kinda wish you could browse your music library but you can't.
QUESTION:
Has anyone successfully used these as wireless headphones for COMPUTER? My dongle supports A2DP I'm sure, but things just aren't working right.
I paired it with the PC, then the headset shows up as bluetooth speakers in Vista's Playback Devices. Once I set the bluetooth as default device (by right clicking), i hear a hiss in the bluetooth headphones, so the connection is active, but also the mic is active! if i speak into the mic i hear it in the headphones.
but when I go into the properties of the Bluetooth Speakers under Playback Devices in Vista, it's only set as MONO, and 'telephone quality'... once I play music across it, its definitely in mono and definitely sounding like ***.
Anyone have good luck in configuring this???

Hi! Thanks so much for the tutorial, but I tried the Toshiba drivers, even the bluesoleil drivers, and they didnt work with my adapter!
I found a tutorial on getting A2DP functioning with the WIDCOMM stack under Vista...
here's the link if anyone in future has trouble
http://www.djkaty.com/drupal/vista/bluetootha2dp
It's slightly finnicky but working great so far!!!
Only thing I can't get going is a smooth simultaneous connection from the headset to the phone and PC at the same time.
