this high tech super small chips cost very much to buy.....they are to expensive to use in ordinary cell phones.

have you guys never thought about why example k850 "only" cost 400 euro when it first came..(think its quite cheap for a brand new model, who have so great features)....

sure can build you a phone with platina chassi, super advanced GPS, wlan, hsdpa 7.2 MB/sec, 7 M.P camera with 3 x optical zoom, CCD sensor, 3" screen...........but it will cost you 1000 euro (minimum)

just look at N95 when it first came.....700 euro (cheapest web price)...eeehhh..how many ordinary people have afford that....

its all about money ladies & gentlemans...............

for god sake...im not prasing my k850..(even if it sound like that now)

(i mean many models), just look at w910....cheap very good phone (except for the camera..but still very ok)..big good screen, super thin, fast, ..etc

if you should build in this super advanced small GPS chip, it will cost A LOT MORE..................how many ordinary people would buy w910 then ?????..(not as many as now i believe)

ps....z750 have not this gps chip..it have a new RSS function who download pages in a new way..(maybe that what you mean ????

@plankgatan

Without doubt gps chips, like most chips, will become cheaper over time so as along as they manage power efficiently then there is no reason why they shouldn't become standard eventually.

The chips you see in our phones today were expensive when they first appeared. Remember that the T610 had 2mb of memory and a slow processor but that was over £250 when launched.

Anyway the question from the start here was why SE still dont have a device with the gps feature.
Sure it will add som more money to its pricetag, but so does a good camera, good screen, great design. If people want the feature they sure will pay the extra money.

So can you answer me why Z750 has good Price WHILE it has GPS?

and about the W910 it's just a normal phone 5610 from Nokia much better than it in term of music and of course the Camera Much better and it's well built phone........

I think Sony Ericsson use our like of the K (Cybershot) and W (Walkman) against us by making these phone overpriced while it's not the best in the Market.........

Hope the Year 2008 will much different or SE will going to lose so much......

BTW W890 already tried by friend of mine and it's Sound from the Loud Speaker just looser like W880........

@ plankgatan
The MORE these GPS chips are being implemented the CHEAPER and MORE ADVANCED they will get, remember how expensive the 1st Colour Screen Camera phones were? NOW look how cheap you can get a 2MP camera phone. Quit praising that K850 thing of yours and be open minded!

At least it can b powered off to reserve the battery, just like bluetooth or wifi. If they dont keep up with its technological edge on the rest, it will lead to lots of SE fans decamping.

Just wait and watch. Sony Ericsson will come withthe best technology and let me tell you Sony Ericsson has filed a patent for it's GPS Technology so Nokia will not copy it just like it did for Best Pic.
