A thought just occured - have you tried recalibrating the screen? Control Panel - Other - Setup Wizard. I think you have to flick through all the stuff that appears when you first boot the phone after updating, then the screen calibration is the last section.
Another thought was that it might have something to do with the theme your using - have you tried another?
