I found I had problems with this on all my phones since the p900, the only resolution I found was to disable it and simply update the clock via the pc suite as there seemed to be a conflict between the two.

Did setting your clock back by an hour result in the sms timestamps being right btw, I only ask because I eas wondering if this was an issue of your network provider's - if it did fix the sms, then it definately is your phone..

If so, then try disabling the daylight saving option.

O, so I set the daylight savings time to manual, well, untick the automatic.
And how exactly do I update the time from PcSuite?

You find the option in the main pc suite window, under Tools - Synchronise Time.

It will then match the time on your phone to your pc every time you connect it.

I think it's a problem with the service provider.
I find that different service providers or depending on the location of the person(so could be tower related), the time-stamp is different.
AFAIK, UIQ phones are the only ones that sort according to the timestamp of the message rather than the timestamp of reception

It's most of the time the service provider. It happened to me, too. They don't always fix tehir watches and if you receive your sms from abroad, then it's the sender's provider clock at fault.

OK, the time update via PcSuite didn't help either. So I guess I should notify my provider about this problem?
