This is an old issue with an easy fix: Move all the contacts from the SIM to the phone memory.
You must empty the SIM.

I'm sure guys you have the same problem as mine . Just try to see ....
-pick a Contact (from phone-memory, not SIM) ,edit a Voice command for that contact
-tap to Control Panel > Call Settings > Voice control
-mark Portable handsfree , say your Magic Word
-at this step if you go to Contacts > More > View Folder > SIM it will read the SIM Contacts . But ....
-restart your phone
-tap again to Contacts > More > View Folder > SIM ...and it is f**E# up
And....
if it happens that you have under phone-memory Contacts an identical name with a SIM-Contact name ,then when receiving a call you won't see that name only a number. This is not happening if Voice control is not activated .

U mean to ignore Voice control ? This is useful when driving the car or bycicle .If the phone has this feature why not use it ? This is like I'm having a car but I won't use the headlights because I will drain the battery

Maybe its something to do with sim/network rather then cell phone. :/

"SIM/network" is supporting Voice control. I'm using this feature on another phone. It is a BUG in SE P1i !

Yep, it's a bug, just remove voice commands to be able to access the SIM-folder, remove all the contacts there, then add voice commands again.
Then everything should work, except for the fact that you don't have any contacts on your SIM-card, but you can always synchronize your contacts, or make a backup to the memory card from within the phone's contact list just to make sure you'll never loose your contacts.

Hi,
I also confirm that this is a software bug. My P1i worked just fine until I enabled voice control for my contacts, then Caller ID matching with contact stopped working. I took a full backup, reset the phone, flashed the firmware again and restored the backup, then everything is working again.

Hey everyoe - i've got the same problem - the same with SMS - it just won't pick up the contact name and display just the number (and asks to add it to contacts everytime)
Master Reset solves it for some time - now after reading this thread i also can confirm that's it's Voise Control, sinse i'm using handsfree in the car.
to be honest i wanted to sell the phone - now if it's a confirmed bug, maybe SE will fix it.

This is most definitely a bug SE are aware of as I've raised it with them myself.
Another manifestation, again conected to voice dialling, is that if you do have numbers stored on the SIM but turn OFF the SIM lock and reboot your phone the fault goes away.
Switch SIM lock on again reboot and guess what reappears?
So whether its the voicedial function or SIM lock thats causing it I dont know but I emailed SE for an update last week and its still being investigated by their software dev. team
