under groups>internet>more>options>preferred mode you have the options:
automatic
PS only
CS only
what do these 3 options stand for and do and which is the best option for 3g web use?
and a question regarding setting wlan as the preferred connection method,does that mean that the wlan has to be always enabled on the phone ?

indup CS is Circuit Switch (old skool dialup) and PS is Packet Switch (GPRS/3G). Some find that setting their phones to CS saves some battery, however mines always on Automatic.
If you've disabled the Wifi, then the phone won't use it, even if it's priority 1.
Best to leave it always on, especially as the phone will try to find you free wifi if it can.
