yeah, I am grateful that the phone wasn't bricked....
I'm just too lazy to re-configure GPRS, ActiveSync, IMAP Gmail, all the shortcuts, ringtones etc...
Well at least I got to upgrade my firmware

Mm. The "randomly hanging phone for absolutely no reason"- bug. Nasty thing.
@saab_rider: ..can you remember what happened when it started? (It should be some core program or service that failed on the startup.. so the phone would restart the phone again to "fix it".. and so on).

That's an interesting solution. I hope I won't get the same error again, and won't need to use this fix... But it might prove to be useful in the future..
