More comments are welcome regarding how complex the mem-max feature of BL should be. Unless many people suggest something else, I tend to agree with cporeaux above.

Really nice app, but it would be absolutely perfect if it auto open on startup and have option to auto execute default group. I always open 15 apps on my P1 after startup and this app should do that automatically..

There are many different styles of using a phone. Some people prefer having all used programs open all the time, for slightly faster switching between them. Recent UIQ3 phones have enough memory for doing this, and Bunch Launch helps starting them all fast.

Exactly ZED@CPS.
I consider myself a business user and always want to be able to quickly go to following apps:
Calendar
Contact
Tasks
Messaging
Project
Advanced call manager
Magic message manager
Jabp
Mobipocket reader
Word to go
Notes
File manager
TouchCalc
Picture galery
Control panel ...last to in any case as there is plenty of memory

Also I daily or almost daily use opera, audible player, core player, handy safe, sheet to go, best crypto, fring, xplore, word mate, lcg jukebox and some others but don't need them all the time although I end with 20 or more apps opened at the same time.

A companion program to Bunch Launch has been released.

BL Starter does the following:
- Installs as a separate application.
- Can be invoked from the built-in Main menu, or any other application launcher.
- Can be invoked as a shortcut of the Standby screen, LinkBoy, GDesk, or similar shortcut providers.
- Instantly executes the default group of applications, defined in Bunch Launch.
- Provides the fastest possible way of starting up multiple apps at once.
- Hence, gives more convenience to using Bunch Launch, by executing a group by just one click.

Additional information:
- BL Starter supports processing non-default groups as well, by accepting a group number as parameter.
- Such parameter needs to be passed from the caller application.
- LinkBoy versions 1.50 and above support passing parameters to applications.
- As a result, when using the new LinkBoy, you will be able to have separate shortcuts to each of your frequently used groups.
- Future versions of Bunch Launch will include BL Starter as an optional installable component.

BL Starter is bundled with Bunch Launch 1.10.

Bunch Launch 1.10 has been released. Major new features are:
- The number of presented startup groups can be set between 1 and 10 in the Settings/Preferences dialog.
- The Activity and Main menu programs can be included in the groups.
- Enhanced memory maximization options to close system applications.
- BL Starter (providing one-click access to executing the groups) is bundled as an optional install component.

Highlight: BL Starter provides the best way of instantly closing and/or launching several apps by one click. This method is more versatile and useful than autostart, as it is not restricted to the (supposedly rare) event of restarting the phone, instead it can be used any time to quickly bring the phone to a desired state. In addition, when using LinkBoy 1.50, you can have separate BL Starter shortcuts to any and all of your startup groups.

Enjoy the program!

We have released a companion to Bunch Launch, called BL Autostarter. This program automatically executes the default group, defined in BL, whenever the phone is started up. So, this gives you the true autostart function. Other characteristics:

- The program is free and unrestricted. It just requires that Bunch Launch is installed and a default group is defined.

- The program can not be installed as is. It requires individual signing with a dev-cert, due to security constraints on the autostart feature.

- CPS does not encourage the use of dev-certs by end-users. Therefore, this program is not an official, fully supported release by CPS. It is provided to protect people from using some similar solution made by crackers. This one at least comes from a reliable source.

- As a safety measure, we recommend that the default group is configured to start with a confirmation dialog. In this way you can prevent the execution of the group when it turns out that you have put some program in it that conflicts with the phone's normal boot process.

- As an additional safety measure, we suggest that you install BL Autostarter on the memory card. In this way, if there is some serious conflict, you can boot the phone normally with the memory card removed.

I should note that while many people is traditionally interested in the boot-time autostart feature, the other Bunch Launch companion, BL Starter, actually provides a more versatile and better way of quickly bringing the phone to the desired state.

BL Autostarter can be downloaded from the Bunch Launch thread of the My-Symbian.com UIQ3 forum.

Isn't having something on the same lines as bootman better?

what advantage does installing these two apps in tandem have over bootman?
