I've had no problems at all with the fastport on my V630i. Nor with the old style connector on my V800. I had endless problems with the K700i connector though, IMO the fastport is a big improvement.

This is a typical SE problem.I replaced my W810i fastport 2 times in one year.

I believe the fastport is a big improvement over the previous connector that SE used. I had so much trouble with the old one on my Z600i!

in my own experience (with k750, w800 and w900) it is not the fast port connector to be blamed. it is the WIRE of the headset. if the wiring is usually folded (when placed in a tight pants pocket for example), there will be a break in the continuity of the "electical message" to be sent to the ear phones for audio playback.

In case anyone is interested. My fast port connecter got worse. It was so bad that the headphones, charger and usb cable would rarely register or they would disconnect regularly. So, rather than send my phone away for repair by a unskilled monkey and wait approx 3 weeks I thought I would fix the problem myself. All I had to do was pull the phone apart, slide the fast port adapter off the mainboard and clean the contacts on the main board and put it back together. Works as good as new. I was glad to find the K800 is very easy to pull apart and suprisingly very well put together.
