POP3 does not support push email, fyi to all those that are having issues.
examples are Gmail, hotmail, msn, etc.
IMAP v4 or IMAP v6 online accounts DO support push email.
examples are Yahoo mail, some cable providers have imap email accounts, though most have POP3.
Keep this in mind before thinking its a bug.
I used push email with my w880i on a hotmail account so it must do....
Also does anyone know if you can use the activesync with hotmail? I would like to set this up, failing that it would be useful to set this up with my work email, anyone know how I can find my work server details? Long shot I know, but outlook must store these somewhere?

It's good we are now talking about this, especially as W960i is sold as a smartphone and for its business use as well as as a Walkman.
So. The bottom line is that at this time SE told me only ActiceSync will work as a push email solution.
I spoke with Vodafone again today and they say they will definitely NOT be supporting this phoen with their own Push email solution.
Is there anyway of finding out if the makers of BlackBerry Connect will be making a version for the W960i.
or if anybody else will be making software that works.
Its almost like SE are pretending Push Email was never ever mentioned.
it was.
thats why I bought it

The technical side is beyond me but just to point out that Vodafone "MyMail" is IMAP4 but still does not seem to PUSH - as has been mentioned in other threads

I have IMAP push working beautifully on my w580i, on 2 different accounts.
Gmail supports IMAP now, and pushes to my fone.
Battery takes a hit tho.

Vodafone (UK) Push Email Now Working! I think I had overlooked a setting hidden in Tools > Control Panel > Messaging > Email accounts > "More" button" (not the "Select" that you need to alter the email account settings) > Always on push email.
At this stage I ticked the "Always on" and set times. Then selected the "Internet Account" (Contract Wap for My Mail on Vodafone contract). This is unlike the "Group account" that you still have to select in the actual email account settings.
For Vodafone I think this only works for MyMail which is IMAP4. You can aggregate 5 -mail accounts on to this. Incidentally if you have the 120MB data package (under £10) the incoming e-mails do not eat in to your allowance but outgoing e-mails are 12 p each - so use on of your accounts directly and set as your "preferred account".
Hope this helps those like me who thought setting the "push email" in the account was sufficient. Hopefully this works on other networks too.
