I've been watching these video threads for a while now. Can anyone explain why my p1i needs this special router setup, while my PC on the same router works fine without it?

I can. It's Youtube's problem restricting somehow the mobile version. WM phones work just fine, but not SE.I used to watch videoclips over wifi, but not anymore.Look on the site, there's the explanation there.

I have no problem watching m.youtube.com over WLAN. Haven't done any setup on my ADSL modem either.

I finally figured it out my router was seeing youtube incoming streams as DOS attacks DOH!

Hmmmmm if you are able to browse the web via wlan without issues then I guess the only remaining thing is the "Denial of Service" protection - I found this on my netgear and like someone mentioned I noticed in the logs that the netgear thought I was being hit with a DOS attack whenever I attempted to connect to YouTube.
Turning this off seemed to solve the issue finally for me.
Not that I consider the video quality to be even remotely worth the work it took to get it fr*gging well working!

I have a p1i with the latest firmware, but cannot stream videos neither on wifi nor on 3G, it always either buffers to 100% and then the phone hangs and restarts by itself with the message (restart to enhance performance) kinda thing, or just not buther and displays the message (the link was not found) something. I kinda lost faith in this thing being able to stream video anyway.
btw I have public IP address on the 3G and wifi with no natting or firewalling of any kind, and yet no video streaming, took it to the service center and they don't know video streaming!!!
