@pt - Were those 3-IMAGES taken with your

W800 + mxe-60 xenon flash

If so, I am NOT surprised at all ! Because I used that mxe-60 with my K750i and REALLY does make wonders when used at NIGHT time (complete darkness . . . )
Let's make some comparison:

K750 + mxe-60 Xenon Flash :

P990i : Flash: ON : (NO mxe-60 xenon flash attachment) . . .

hi again, i have both phones the P1i and the W800i so i can see the difference between this 2 generation, technically the P1i has the upper hand with hands down, but in reality, cos he is loaded with so many things it makes it unnecessary complicated,if you will look on the daily things that you do with it,it is just too much work. for me the P1i was and upgrade that in reality is a downgrade ,the things that i used to do with my old W800i the P1i comes not even close to that level, not in music, not in camera, not in agenda and the most important functionality.
that i can go online, have wifi, voip and all that is nice, and we all want to have it today, but yesterday i loved music, and i still love it now,so the p1i su**s,i made thousands of pictures with the W800i,
p1i su**s,have all my appointments still on the w800i cos in the p1i you never know if it will ring or not cos it su**s must i go on?....very hard words for a phone that i own, different from others that their phone is automatically also the best one.
When boy i had the first Walkman ever, first disc man ever and so on , i grow up with sony music players mds you name it ,was walking on the street and had a Walkman+equalizer for the Walkman, and a micro amplifier,cables/remotes all over with holes from one pocket to the other for the cabals cos i had to distribute the weight and no place in one for all ,i always had a dream that i will have one app that can do it all.
nothing like that was on the market until the W800i came out, when i got it i was ameized ,only 2 Weeks earlier i bought an MP3 player the HD-3 from Sony, but after first listening to the phones Walkman i knew that i will never use the 20gigas of the HD-3 on the way cos the player of the W800i was so good, this phone just could not do wrong, I thought Sony + Erickson are back again, but from that moment all the phones that came out from SE were in some aspect disappointing, one had auto focus the other not one with xenon the other not even leds and so on, I thought when you make something new it must be always better then the older, and there is my mistake and the p1i is a mistake, not only for me.look in the index and see how many subjects are about the problems with the p1i,my old W800i still works after 2,5 with no problems at all.

Realy nice photos!!!
About this
music player dose not remember last song
say what??? i listen to alot of podcasts...and the music player remembers the last file i was listening, and the more important, the exact spot were i last was before stoping listening...
if you want to bash the P1, say it could use a faster processor (it would be nice), it could have an internal gps, and some UIQ3 present limitations should be lifted (flash, free arranging icons, etc)
i use both opera mobile and opera mini, and phone never hangs...my uptime is currently almost 2 weeks, still alot RAM free, etc

I used P1i since August 2007, before I sold it yesterday
I was pretty sad, but I decided that P1i is not for me and might as well as sell it while it still has decent market price.
P1i IS a good phone, a very good one indeed, I like the keyboard, the style, how stable it is (I had it up for 43 days when I sold it). However, I'm not power user, I'm just a student looking for a fun phone. Having said that, the P1i really lack of application like S60 (I'm not jumping ship to Nokia either, I always like SE UI much much better). I know P1 has some pretty good application like Gdesk (although I think Gdesk is more for m600 user, nevertheless it's still a pretty good app), Coreplayer, some games. But I dont feel like any of them scream FUN!!

. I heard that there is this program that will allow us to use palm application on uiq 3.0, when that comes out, I might buy the P1i again (of course cheaper than what i sold it for, lol).
Here is what I think the pro and con of P1i.
Pro.
A lot of RAM (makes it extremely stable and fast in switching application), very nice keyboard,
good sound quality,
very stylish. Nice display.
hm, what else, umm, oh ya, I think the camera take a pretty good pic for a camera phone (it's no k790a or k800i, but it's pretty good).
A2DP.
the GOLF GAME rocks!!!
Con.
-The whole sms system is pretty lame. Like how it refreshes everytime you go back to the inbox (say i'm marking several msgs, and mistakenly tap one of the message, when I go back to the inbox, I have to redo everything again).
The screen feels fragile ( I wish they have W960 type of screen).
I have pretty fat thumb, and it misses the button sometimes (I'm too lazy to take it out), but this is a very minor issue.
Camera. I had to actually take pic of bday cakes to show it to a group of friend to pick for a birthday, and it hung on me. I'm pretty embarrassed (my P1 is pretty much the most sophisticated phone in the group), but that was before the previous firmware update. I never tried it again afterthat.
The camera UI is not the best either. It's really hard to pick a setting without taking out the stylus.
Apps!!! If I have apps, none of the above cons would be a deal breaker (although the sms is pretty annoying).
Last thing is the browser...maybe because I played with iphone safari browser before. I think the browser it pretty inadequate, I use both opera mobile and opera mini. In the browser, it gets annoying sometimes when I try to login to my hotmail account, and it keeps sending me back to the login screen. I had some successful attempt, but I guess those unsuccessful one stays longer in my head, LOL. That's just one of the example. Another thing like the 'back' button in the opera mobile has a funny way of working, you have to zoom out before you go back to the previous screen, and so on. Sometimes (when my thumb feel reallllly fat, i feel the buttons are tad to small)
ANYWAY, after all said and done, if they put in some cool application like profile manager, nice text messaging app (I know they have sms manager and sms diary, etc, but I am not really into them), I will buy P1i again (barring any major SONY P series release).
One thing for sure, once you use P1i keyboard, you dont want to send a text message with the regular keyboard, darn are they annoying,

.

About your fingers .... my fingers are normal and never really had problems with the keyboard, really like it,got used to it fast, but when i switch to the touchscreen they get XXX- FAT. it is really useless unless you use the stylus, only the big symbols are easy to touch and as you write that is the big difference between this touch screen and the iphones touch screen and interference, playing with it makes all the other phones old.
here a picture of my fingers and my next phone
(MK2 or maybe i will even wait for MK3)

@ARES
i do not want to bash anything,it is just the way i experience my new phone, i just am disappointed.
you write "say what??? i listen to a lot of pod casts...and the music player remembers the last file i was listening, and the more important, the exact spot were i last was before stopping listening"
looked all over the settings ...how do you do it ?here it goes always to the first track in the list ,,,very annoying, and i do not talk about pausing it, i talk about stopping it and after some time starting it on,in the W800i it remembered it too the track and the exact point in the track ... even if i shut it down and took the battery out.
