I'm not sure of what i'm going to say, and correct me if i'm wrong, but knowing that both brands have bugs in their new releases, i think that se is better 'cause they release soft updates (i.e. They admit the bugs and correct them) which are free and quick.

has better customer service and that is a fact. However, Nokia also releasses firmware upgrades to correct its buggy phones. What happens, is that many many times the problem in Nokia phones doesn't lie on faulty software but on faulty & poor hardware.

Correct! And that is why they are often forced to replace the non-repairable phones; after a 2-month waiting period of course!:-( Not to mention that when you upgrade a Nokia you lose everything in your phone!:-( This post was posted from a T68i

@krubach: They both have faulty phones on their hands and this strategy will never change as long as ppl buy new phones the day they appear on the market.Look at the p800 madness, the phone has a lot of problems and they've already paid the $.this is all that matters to ur beloved nokia, se or whatever

I don't see many owners of P800 having problems with it!!!! I've never had a problem with my new t68 14 months back. I have no problem with my brand new GD87. Every Nokia phone I had (except 6110) was faulty...
It is known that Nokia phones suffer more hardware failures than any other brands. I don't mean absolute numbers, but proportianlly. It is reasonable. They don't have time to test them at all. In a year they can develope and introduce 15 new models!!!! How the hell they can test them????

i agree that they are both the same but sony ericsson tends to be a bit more consumer oriented

I think all thanks to sony and ericsson merge.. Believe Japanese are very good in product quality.

Nokia have a lot of model but if you look carefully it is just about changing keypad and cover that is all.

Eg 7210 and 6100 exactly the same! only different keypad and cover.

but prices different by so much. Maybe 6100 is to replace 7210 (which buggy and recall by nokia)!!!!

Yeah agree totally. Nokia is no where near SE in terms of technology. Nokia only survive in their cash cows which are low level basic designs and incorporate some trendy flashing covers or radical keypad designs to lure the buyers. They have very good marketing strategy for this purpose. So, who are the fools? We, the consumers are.

I've long time ditched Nokia after I realised this fact. Give SE some time to break thru the low end market. Nokia will go down the drain in no time if they don't buck up. Their engineers have every reason to sweat for the obvious lack of technological know-how.

going back to the SE sms texting, YES, it is slow compared to nokia. And to those who think otherwise, well, it is because you guys type slow, and are not text typist. Someone out there should do a cellphone texting context and this should prove that SE will lag behind.

We can all forget about SE slow SMS texting problem. T600 offer very fast respond....I test it on a friend's phone. In My T39, I experienced that I can over delete my text when pressing too many C(due to delay) but it didn't happen on T600, every click mean one char is deleted immediately and no delay.

Reliability wise...I think most phone is having bad reliability now but one the appearance I feel nokia quality is going down now...take a look at 8310, the translucent part on the keypad always have crack after you used it for sometime....we cannot put the phone around the neck everytime just to prevent it from cracking.
