pocket size design
better and faster handling of third party software (for example no need to split movies into chunks)

P1 has a smaller display (2.4" compared to 2.8" of the P990)
Processor speed for both are the same.
The only advantage P1 has over the P990 is the extra RAM.
P990 is quite stable with fw R6E28 but fw development has stopped, so you will be stuck with it. On the other hand, fw development for P1 will probably not continue for much longer.
You could probably get a P990 for a third of the cost of a P1 so I say go for a P990. You will be cutting down on your losses

Well perple if u lot have used a P990i like me then u will know why i sold my P990 after using it for more then 8months its not the software thats stable, its not the ram even though its 64mb its alright if u not using many programs at once n use swissmanager for ur apps that will make ur phone work fine, and its not the lack of support as
have stopped that. Its the size of the phone its just too big to get used to so my advice is go for the P1i n have a beautiful pocket friendly phone compact phone
