This sounds like a serious problem.

One last thing you could try before taking it to a SE service center is to remove battery, sim card and memory stick and wait for a few seconds. Then put only the battery back in and check if it boots up to the 'phone on/flight mode' menu.

I genuinely sorry for you...

unfortunately the last time i had this problem i was unable to find a fix for this. i managed to avoid going to the service center by using SE's update service, but i lost all of my data on the phone. which is especially annoying since the backup software by SE refuses to work consistently.

(my workaround for this is to use the pc suite sync for adress book & calendar and myphoneexplorer for messages, btw)

cheers

guys

just tried going to the update service!!! it actually identified my phone. but it says that i dont need to updat as the software is the latest!!!

to be honest i havent updated the software since i got the phone because i was happy with the phone itself!!

i dont want to really update the software unless there is nothing i can do about the problem.

hope you guys can get back to me as soon as possible.

many thanks!!!

Sorry, but most likely the firmware has become corrupted, hence it keeps looping/restarting.

Worse, if you indeed do have the latest software on the phone, then the SE update service will not download new software (because it thinks you already have it).

Even worse, there is no option in the SE update service application to force a software upgrade on the phone.

Your only option is to go to a SE service center and they can use the SE service tool to force a new firmware onto the phone.

If the phone is still under warrenty, there should be no charge. But make sure the SE service center agree to that (or they may charge you).

And sorry, but you will lose all data. There is no way to save/retrieve the info from the phone if you cannot start it up

Good luck,

/Mike B.
