@Makbil
Thank you, I suspected that
I am thinking of trading my P990i (and some 80 euros ) for the (also used) P1i Navigator with some guy I know.
But the more I think about it ,I realise that it would be hard for me to part with P990, kind of : the more P990 abused me, the more it grown on me...

I regarded the P1 as an inferior device with more RAM
After all, the P1 has smaller screen, no lens cover, a weird keyboard and most of the bugs it has inherited from the P990.
My suggestion is check which program has the better maps for your location and use that, I think you would be satisfied with both of them.

You are right, but, more memory + GPS receiver sounds tempting ... main deal breaker for me is lack of native FIND function im Contact app. Yes I know there are 3rd party apps, but PLEASEE !? ( uh, I just got irritated at SE's ANSWER... thread :) , sory for OT )

Hmmm, I'm not sure about the bugs! With my old P990 I used to have it restart, or some form of crash at least once every two weeks. I've had my P1i now for around 3 months, and only had one glitch after I installed some third party software. Apart from that I've not even had a single restart or freeze!

Are you referring to the P1i when you say about not being able to find in the Contacts application?
If so, the P1i has the search function as standard. Or at least it has on the Sim Free version!

yes, I was refefing to P1...as I've seen few reports that it doesnt have a FIND ( or SEARCH ) function, OR it does not search in all contact fields ( as P990 ), but just Name fields...can't remember which was the case, but eather one is equally bad for my messy memory (and I am not talking about RAM ... ) :-)

I thing it is device dependent, some individual P990s can be very moody. The latest one I have hasn't had a crash yet. I regularly have over 10 days of up time without problems. On the other hand, I keep hearing from P1 users that even with the added RAM, it is possible to have insufficient memory warnings, probably due to the OS and not the actual amount of RAM.
