I so much remember buying my first cellphone back in 2000 a nokia 3310 with my hard earned money didnt want to ask my parents for money bought it with my money thats why i was never careless to lost it

i think if i ever have kids they going to get cellphones its a must to stay in touch these days but its going to be like the motorola F3 lol so that if they lose the darn thing it wont be expensive to replace and with a pre pay sim so that i can monitor the amount paid for calls

Hiporacy?

Anyway, if you're 16, course you should be paying your own bloody contract. And trust me, doesn't matter how well off you think your parents are, at 16 you should be capable of having a job and buying your own stuff. I don't expect pocket money or anything of the like, and haven't had any since I was 15.

lucky s*d!

how much i would love to sell my k810, k800 and k700 (not that i would get much for it) and get a w960 or p1.

just consider yourself lucky as my mum wont let me have a w960 even if i sold all my phones and my psp

To be honest, it's for the best. Kids should earn there money. The most I got was £20 a month, most kids my age at the time were getting that per week!

Tbh i can see where you're coming from, my mum always goes on about her not getting this kinda stuff when i ask her to lend me cash for car parts and stuff.....but times have changed. I suppose I am biased as "I get everything" according to some people lol

I do have a contract which my mum pays for and she gives me £10 a week and buys me some clothes and stuff etc....although i buy my gadgets myself with the spending money and money i get from my job.

Yeah, but AL3X, depends how old you are I guess. If your over 16 I think yeah, you do get given quite alot.

I'm 22, still live at home, but I buy all my own food/drink/clothes/shoes etc, anything I want, I pay for it. I've never had a phone contract or top up paid for me, only had a few phones bought as presents at Birthdays etc.

But, we're all brought up differently.

My kids will be brought up the same way as me, therefore teaching them the value of money. Even if I was a millionare, I'd heavily limit what they get. I wouldn't just give in and buy them ponys and PS3's etc.
